Mangrove Conservation Initiative

In an environmental responsibility initiative, members of the CCI France Qatar gathered on Thursday May 9, 2024 for an operation in the mangroves, with the companies Dietsmann, Bolloré Logistics, CMA CGM, Ponticelli, and BNP Paribas, involving more than 60 people divided into two sessions.

Each session began with a meticulous cleaning of the area, collecting water bottles and various plastics and small debris carried by the wind.

This involved transplanting young mangroves to expand the mangrove area, thus contributing to the expansion of these vital areas for coastal protection, preservation of marine habitats, and carbon sequestration, crucial elements in the fight against climate change.

By carefully repotting young mangroves, participants contributed in preserving these essential habitats for marine biodiversity. This enriching experience not only raised environmental awareness but also gave them the tools to take action towards the conservation of mangroves and our planet as a whole.

The event helped strengthen ties within the French business community.

The CCI France Qatar and its members remain committed to protecting the environment in Qatar and implementing sustainable actions. Other initiatives will be organized at the end of the year.
